Your responsibilities
Within the Faculty of Computer Science, you will be responsible for teaching, research and service. More specifically, you will be in charge of the following activities:
Teaching Activities- You will teach general computer science courses (web technologies and operating systems) as well as subjects related to your research expertise, covering their conceptual, methodological, organisational and technological dimensions.
- You will teach courses within the various programmes organised by the Faculty of Computer Science, at bachelor's and master's level, in daytime programmes and, for adults, in evening programmes, at the Namur and Charleroi campuses.
- You may also be involved in other programmes with which the Faculty of Computer Science is associated.
- Your course portfolio will be determined based on your areas of expertise and the distribution of teaching among the Faculty's academics. This course portfolio is likely to evolve over the course of your career.
- You will also supervise final dissertations and student projects.
- You will deploy dynamic and stimulating teaching methods, in line with the institutional innovative teaching policy (PUNCH).
- You will develop your research activities in (at least) one of the Faculty's areas of specialisation, including software engineering, artificial intelligence, programming languages, and security. CA 779 - Vacancy notice approved by the Rector's Council by delegation
- You will conduct research on a current and promising topic, both in terms of academic visibility and potential partnerships with industry, with an openness to areas of application such as those of the Walloon Competitiveness Clusters.
- You will focus on topics likely to lead to collaborations with other academics in the Faculty.
- You will conduct research at an international level, in order to strengthen and complement the Faculty's existing expertise.
- You will supervise doctoral theses.
- You will build, lead and manage a research team.
- You will participate in Faculty Council meetings and other decision-making and consultation bodies within the Faculty of Computer Science.
- You will represent the Faculty of Computer Science and the University of Namur in national and/or international scientific organisations.
- You will participate in activities promoting computer science studies at the University of Namur.
- You will contribute to the reputation of the University of Namur and the Faculty of Computer Science in the outside world through activities that you initiate or to which you are invited as an expert.
