Position Overview

As a Technical Sales Engineer Industrial Automation
, you will combine technical expertise and commercial skills to grow our business in the Netherlands and Flanders. You will consult with customers, analyze production challenges, and propose automation, robotics, packaging machines and and to end lines that deliver measurable value.

You are the link between engineering, project management, and sales
, ensuring that technical know-how translates into successful commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities with manufacturing companies in industrial automation, robotics, and packaging technology
    .
  • Identify and analyze customer requirements and convert them into customized automation solutions
    .
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and the sales team to create proposals and deliver presentations.
  • Prepare and manage technical quotations, calculations, and project documentation
    .
  • Lead negotiations, proposals, and solution selling processes
    , from first contact to closing.
  • Represent DH Automation Technology at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events
    .
  • Monitor market trends, customer demands, and competitor activity to drive growth.
Candidate Profile

Position Overview Background & Experience
  • At least 5 years of B2B technical sales or engineering experience
    .
  • Proven track record in industrial automation, robotics, packaging machinery sales
    .
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes, production IT, and process automation
    .
  • Experience with long‑term investment projects and capital goods sales is a plus.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial automation, mechatronics, or a related technical/commercial field
    .
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong technical expertise combined with commercial drive.
  • Skilled in solution selling and consultative sales
    .
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
    .
  • Analytical mindset with ability to calculate ROI and build strong business cases.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a partnership‑oriented approach.
  • Experience in project management of complex sales cycles
    .
  • Team player with ability to collaborate effectively with sales, engineers, and project managers.
  • Proactive, independent, and results‑driven.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the Netherlands and Flanders
    .
Languages
  • Dutch
    : fluent (required).
  • English: professional proficiency.
  • French: a plus for Flanders.
Software Skills
  • CAD (3D) experience (e.g. AutoCAD, Solid Works, Inventor,
    Onshape
    ).
  • CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Hub Spot).
  • Microsoft 365 (Office Suite).
  • Understanding MES software is a plus.
