We are searching for the best talent for the role of Operations Director Parenteral Production at IMSC Beerse Site to be based in Beerse, Belgium.

Purpose: Are you passionate about supplying high quality pharmaceutical products to patients? At our Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC) unit in Beerse, Belgium, we proudly serve five patients every second with a team of 700 dedicated professionals!

We are looking for a Operations Director that will be accountable for the Drug Product/ Sterile manufacturing Business Unit performance. You will set operational and strategic direction for the Beerse sterile manufacturing capabilities and deliver on short and long-term objectives in the areas of safety, sustainability, customer service, product quality and plant competitiveness.

About Your Tasks and Responsibilities

As the Operations Director you will help the Beerse production plant be connected within the synthetics and broader Johnson & Johnson Global network and align with the downstream production processes in Device Assembly and Packaging. As part of the Operations Director’s remit, this role will deliver the operational readiness of New Products as well as maintain a continuous improvement culture as part of the Johnson & Johnson Production System.

In this role you will act as a active coach and mentor to develop talent within the production team.

Given the nature of the production process, you will also play a key role in continuing to keep Beerse’s track record of compliance, specifically in the sterile manufacturing space.

About Your Skills and Experience

Qualifications / Requirements

  • At least 15 years working experience, within the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong mindset for Health and Safety and Environment regulations and guidelines, with a preference of knowledge around ATEX environments.
  • Strong quality mindset and compliance orientation specifically in the area of aseptic filling and parenteral production in general.
  • Clear understanding of compliance requirements (cGMP and other specific legislation/guidelines applicable to parenteral production, and preferably internal J&J requirements & guidelines)
  • Successful in the deployment, coaching and mentoring of Lean practices, such as Direct Observation, Kaizen, Change Management, and Continuous Improvement in general
  • Engaging people leader with experience in leading teams, with the ability to provide clear feedback.
  • Excellent communicator, able to build a network and create win-win solutions both in internal, cross departmental and cross site contacts.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations management and operations systems within the supply chain
  • Able to operate within a matrix organization
  • Able to function in a global environment
  • Able to balance tactical and strategic requirements
  • Insight in financial management and budgeting
