Job Description

As the Product Compliance Manager
, you will be responsible for ensuring that TOMRA Food’s sorting equipment complies with all relevant product and quality regulations across global markets. This role supports both new product development and legacy product management, driving compliance excellence across the full portfolio product line.

Reporting to the VP, Head of Solutions Shared Services
, this role is a key part of the TOMRA Food team, responsible for driving compliance excellence, process improvement, and harmonisation across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities Compliance Management
  • Ensure TOMRA Food’s products meet global regulatory and safety standards.
  • Maintain and manage product data critical for compliance and associated functions.
  • Assess live product portfolios against current standards and legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulations, including: CE (MSD, LVD, EMC, RED); US (UL, FDA, OSHA, NFPA).
  • Act as liaison between product engineers, manufacturers, and test labs.
  • Support the development of product documentation, labelling and instructions.
  • Complete mandatory compliance reports (e.g., machine file for CE, FDA, EAC).
  • Communicate compliance status throughout the product lifecycle.
Influence & Business Partner
  • Provide cross‑functional guidance to R&D, Engineering, Product Management, Operations and regional teams.
  • Maintain a strong network and conduct market research on emerging regulations and partners.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for compliance expertise within TOMRA Food.
Compliance Monitoring & Assurance
  • Maintain robust governance, technical files and product compliance records.
  • Facilitate third‑party testing and certification services.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of compliance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement in compliance processes related to time, cost, and quality.
Continuous Improvement & Effectiveness
  • Identify and implement systems that improve compliance accuracy, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Support new product development projects with compliance expertise.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed compliance into product design and release.
Qualifications About You
  • Higher‑level qualification in technical/quality engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in product and quality compliance.
  • Skilled at influencing stakeholders and shaping processes beyond your remit.
  • Experience implementing governance, processes or structures that deliver lasting change.
  • Ability to work independently, identifying and prioritising areas of improvement.
  • Strong networking, coaching, mentoring, and training abilities.
  • Proven success in influencing others indirectly through guidance, sparring, and support.
  • Confidence to say "no" when necessary, while offering pragmatic solutions that maintain integrity.
  • Analytical, structured, and improvement‑focused mindset, balancing compliance with efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of CE/EU (MSD, LVD, EMC, RED); US (UL, FDA, OSHA, NFPA), and related directives, regulations and international standards.
  • Experience working with third parties to provide testing, services, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams across the organisation.
  • Excellent English communication skills, additional languages are a plus.
