I am looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate to join my interdisciplinary team on the nano
BASH project which aims to decipher the potential impact of food additives on the gut microbiota, bile acid metabolism and progression of fatty liver diseases.
The candidate will be mainly involved in setting up human-based cellular and microbial assays and in performing analysis on such innovative methodologies to decipher the impact of food additives and components on gut microbiota-liver axis.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree in bioengineering, biomedical sciences, pharmacy or medicine
- Strong interest in hepatology or toxicology or human-based methodologies
- Background in all fields of the project is not required, a willingness to learn is essential
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is needed, knowledge of French is an asset

Funding and conditions
Funded PhD position for a period of 2+2 years. Competitive salary in accordance with Belgian regulations.
