Senior Back-end Developer

As a Senior Back-end developer, you'll be a vital part of our team, working together to build Donna, our perfect AI-sales assistant for field sales reps. Donna empowers them to focus on what they do best - selling.

Expect to tackle diverse challenges in back-end engineering and integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into our products. Your objective will be to ensure our product remains scalable and performant, contributing to an optimal user experience.

A non-exhaustive list of features we could use your help with:

• Design and implement the overall architecture of our web applications and integrations, ensuring they are responsive and maintain high-quality code standards.

• Adding support for new data source ingestion and assisting in maintaining clarity in our data layer.

• Scale and optimize our voice-to-voice pipeline to support real-time, low-latency interactions across multiple communication channels.

• Contribute to team growth by mentoring junior developers, reviewing pull requests, and championing best practices in architecture and development.

• Experiment with new technologies to get the most out of our stack.

• We believe in shipping fast to gather feedback quickly from our customers.

• We like to keep things simple, so we leverage as much as possible the services offered by key vendors.

• You’ll report directly to our CTO, but you’ll work together with other departments (and customers) in detailing the requirements of features and make trade-offs together in order to maximise value while minimising complexity.

• We’re looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience building full stack applications. You are fluent in Typescript, Node.js and AWS. Experience with meta-frameworks like Remix or Next.js is a plus.

• We have data-heavy back-end, so a good data affinity is important. Any experience with data pipelines and data architectures will be a big help.

• Experience in a startup or scale-up environment is a plus. It is important you can embrace the start-up culture. While we try to keep technical debt in check, there are times we need to ship quickly and make pragmatic tradeoffs.

• You’re able to break down big initiatives into small tasks, allowing for re-prioritization as important opportunities arise.

• We have global ambitions, so fluency in English is a must.

• Ability to work with us in the Ghent office; this is not a remote position.
