Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst
Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for performing various financial duties for all assigned agency programs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Support the preparation and monitoring of the organization’s annual budget, including departmental and program-specific budgets
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare revenue, expense projections, and billing reports on a continuous basis
- Analyze budgets on a regular basis to determine if modifications are necessary
- Track and report all funds, grants and donations received for assigned programs
- Monitor contract/grant compliance, prepare financial reports for funders and ensure appropriate allocations of expenses
- Support internal and external audits by providing proper documentation as needed
- Review all assigned financial reports on a regular basis for discrepancies
- Continuously update the fiscal department’s computerized systems
- Maintain communication with assigned program staff to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments in the agency
- Ensure accurate fiscal reporting in compliance with applicable federal and state law as well as program regulations
- Interdepartmental support as needed to meet department objectives:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Payroll journal entries
- Support other departments as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Able to prepare and interpret financial statements, budgets, and projections
- Detail oriented when reviewing work
- Prioritize assigned tasks to meet deadlines and maintain organization
- Stay up to date with federal and state law to ensure all financial reporting is in compliance
- Analyze financial data to determine best outcome for the program
- Maintain high level of confidentiality
- Maintain professionalism with all staff, clients, and contract representatives at all times
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required, in Accounting or Finance, or a related field
- Advanced knowledge in Excel for financial reporting
- Experience working with non-profit budgets preferred
- Experience in MIP Abila preferred
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Some driving is required. Must provide own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and proof of full insurance coverage
- Negative tuberculosis screening
- We require the selected candidate to undergo a criminal background check using the Live Scan fingerprinting method in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

- Work in moderate noise levels and non-smoking environment
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently
- Frequently involves sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, and climbing stairs (as needed)
- Occasionally may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to speak and hear clearly to communicate effectively
- Constantly operates a computer, keyboard, and other various office machinery
- Majority of job duties are performed onsite; however, visits to different sites may be required

COMPENSATION:
In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
