Kitchen Help (BELL GARDENS, CA 90201)

Parkwest Casinos is seeking a Kitchen Helper to assist in preparing and serving/plating food in an exciting atmosphere. The role requires team collaboration and customer interaction.

• Assist the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and slicing ingredients.
• Wash, peel, and cut various foods including fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Dice and cut food necessary for sauces, soups, gravies, and stews.
• Set up work stations and ingredients for recipe preparation.
• Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees.
• Label and stock ingredients on shelves for easy access.
• Maintain communication with the Butcher regarding quality and freshness of products.
• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed and provide necessary items.
• Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils between storage and work areas.
• Prepare meats for buffet and banquet lines.
• Set up daily menu and specials requirements.
• Prepare pizza with toppings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test.
• Must possess a California Food Handler Card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Can effectively interact with customers and co-workers.
• Can resolve problems/conflicts diplomatically.
• Available for full‑time work including weekends, evenings, and varied shifts.
• Clear communication with team members.
• Ability to multi‑task effectively.
• Can work independently and within a team environment.

• No specific education required; high school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• One-to-two years’ experience in a comparable kitchen is preferred but not required.

• Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.

Compensation:

• USD $17.50 per hour.
• USD $18.25 per hour.
