** FIREFIGHTER EMT functions include but are not limited to the following:
**** Emergency Response:
*** Respond to fire and medical emergencies and other related support calls, assessing situations upon arrival and determining appropriate response actions.
* Perform fire suppression tactics, rescue operations, and medical interventions according to established protocols.
* Utilize radio, telephone, and dispatch communications to coordinate emergency response activities.
** Emergency Medical Duties:
*** Provide emergency medical care to patients, including conducting physical exams, administering necessary medical treatments, and transporting patients to medical facilities.
* Maintain compliance with all laws and regulations regarding medication storage and handling.
* Complete medical reports, stock medical supplies, and document all services provided.
** Equipment Maintenance:
*** Perform preventative maintenance on firefighting and medical equipment, ensuring apparatus operates properly and safely.
* Identify and replace faulty parts as needed, documenting maintenance actions and reporting any issues.
* Assist with fire station cleaning activities and ensure station property is well-maintained.
** Administrative Duties:
*** Prepare and maintain reports, assist in planning department objectives, and contribute to the formulation of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
* Stay informed about developments in firefighting methods and techniques by attending meetings and activities.
** Community

Education:

*** Educate the community about fire safety by responding to inquiries, presenting fire safety tips to schools and businesses, and demonstrating proper fire extinguisher use and first aid procedures.
* Assist with public tours of the fire station and participate in community outreach events as needed.
** Continuing

Education:

*** Maintain required EMT-B and firefighting certifications by participating in continuing education programs.
* Attend training sessions to enhance medical, firefighting, driving, and computer skills.
** Other Duties:
*** Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.## Qualifications
