Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team, providing support to our IOP in Houston, Texas.

What does the Licensed Nurse do?

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including taking vital signs, administering medications, preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, educating patients on self‑care, and documenting patient information thoroughly, all while maintaining clear communication with the healthcare team and patients.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Accurately report and record the client’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change
  • Accurately monitor skin assessments with proper documentation and reporting of changes
  • Complete, maintain, and document accurate and relevant clinical notes
  • Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation for all nursing clinical services provided
  • Participate in education, in‐services, and other training and meetings as needed
  • Facilitate appropriate nursing action(s) in response to administrative directives and a changing healthcare environment
  • Ensure all MD orders are followed and documented accordingly during the assigned shift
  • Manage medication administration, monitoring, and proper storage of medication and comply with all medication management policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must have active Licensed Vocational Nurse license in the state of Texas
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an LVN; experience in behavioral health care preferred
  • Certification in Basic Life Support
  • Certification in non‑violent crisis intervention
