Part‑Time Veterinarian – Houston, TX (Jan)
Heartstrings Pet Hospice & In‑Home Euthanasia & Aftercare is a privately owned, rapidly growing in‑home euthanasia and end‑of‑life care practice. We seek associate veterinarians who want to provide compassionate, gentle care in a supportive, values‑driven environment.
Position Overview – As an Associate Veterinarian you will provide in‑home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care. You will work independently in the field while being supported by a collaborative medical leadership team, Veterinary Care Specialists (VCS), and operational infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in‑home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care in a compassionate, Fear‑Free‑aligned manner.
- Support families through the end‑of‑life process with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Collaborate with Heartstrings’ medical leadership and support teams.
- Participate in ongoing training, education, and clinical development.

Experience in hospice, palliative care, or Fear‑Free certification is a plus but not required. Comprehensive training is provided.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS) from an accredited veterinary school.
- Active (or ability to obtain) veterinary license in the state of practice.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Availability to work some weekends as part of a rotating schedule.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Subject to background check and motor‑vehicle‑record check post‑hire.

Compensation
Base pay range: $85,000 – $150,000 per year. Actual pay based on skills and experience.
