Accounting Leader

Position: City Accounting Leader
Be a part of the City of Belleville’s Finance Department as an Accounting and Financial Reporting Supervisor. This position offers full-time engagement in enhancing fiscal strategies and reporting accuracy.

In this pivotal role, you will ensure seamless financial operations, from month-end reconciliations to year-end audits. Provide significant leadership in developing financial practices and policies that safeguard the integrity of municipal funds. Coach and mentor team members while fostering a robust understanding of accounting standards across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead year-end audit and compliance activities

• Manage month-end reconciliations and reports

• Evaluate and approve financial documentation

• Support budgeting and fiscal planning initiatives

• Collaborate on financial policy development

Requirements:

• Must possess a CPA designation

• At least five years of relevant accounting experience

• Three years in a supervisory role

• Strong understanding of municipal financial legislation

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
