Monday - Friday, full-time. 7am to 4pm; however, this role is project-based and hours may vary based on project schedules, site conditions, marine conditions, weather, client requirements, and business needs. Project Managers should expect to work approximately 50 hours per week, with additional hours as required.
Compensation Range: $100,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and organized Project Manager to support civil construction projects across Ontario.

This role is responsible for managing project planning, coordination, scheduling, communication, documentation, budgets, change management, subcontractors, suppliers, equipment, and client relationships. The Project Manager works closely with owners, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, Site Supervisors, Foremen, operators, crew members, and internal teams to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on budget, and to company standards.

The successful candidate will bring strong civil construction knowledge, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment. Experience with site servicing, excavation, grading, drainage, concrete, roadwork, utilities, and general civil construction is considered an asset. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure construction environment where priorities, timelines, site conditions, and client needs can change quickly.

Responsibilities:
Project Management & Coordination:
  • Manage assigned civil construction projects from planning through completion
  • Coordinate project schedules, labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, permits, access, and project requirements
  • Work closely with Site Supervisors, Foremen, operators, crews, subcontractors, consultants, customers, inspectors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, schedules, site conditions, permits, and project documentation
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, safety, quality, costs, timelines, deficiencies, and overall project performance
  • Identify project risks, delays, conflicts, deficiencies, changes, access issues, weather impacts, material concerns, and site concerns, and elevate or resolve them as required
  • Support project planning, sequencing, resource coordination, and day-to-day decision-making
  • Help ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements, company standards, client expectations, and applicable regulations
Civil Construction & Field Support:
  • Support civil construction activities, including site preparation, excavation, grading, drainage, concrete, roadwork, utilities, aggregate placement, restoration, and related construction activities
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, deliveries, disposal needs, staging areas, access, site logistics, and operational needs for assigned projects
  • Work with field teams to support safe and efficient work around equipment, traffic, utilities, trenches, excavations, slopes, public areas, and changing site conditions
  • Assist with planning and coordinating work impacted by weather, access limitations, permits, inspections, utility locates, client requirements, and project schedules
  • Communicate project priorities, changes, and required follow-ups to internal teams and field staff
Financial, Contract & Change Management:
  • Support project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, billing, invoicing, progress claims, and work-in-progress reporting as required
  • Review and track project costs, labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, rentals, purchase orders, and other project expenses
  • Prepare, review, track, and communicate change orders, extra work, quotations, approvals, and related documentation
  • Review subcontractor and supplier documentation, invoices, progress claims, and supporting records as required
  • Monitor project scope and help ensure changes are documented, approved, and communicated before work proceeds where required
  • Support contract administration, closeout documentation, deficiency tracking, warranties, and final project records
