Position: HOPE Program Occasional Teaching Role
Enhance your teaching career as a Secondary Occasional Teacher for the HOPE Alternative Program with Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, based in Tyendinaga. Focus on inclusive education through Indigenous perspectives.

This role focuses on working within a framework that acknowledges community responsibilities and Indigenous cultures. Teachers will report to administration at Eastside Secondary School, promoting a deep commitment to educational reconciliation and Indigenous methodologies. Candidates with local ties and cultural knowledge will thrive in this environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement curriculum that respects Indigenous traditions

• Create a safe and supportive space for students

• Collaborate with local Indigenous communities

• Maintain educational standards set by the Ontario College of Teachers

• Role model inclusive teaching practices

Requirements:

• Indigenous ancestry or membership in registered band

• Experience teaching in a Haudenosaunee context

• Strong understanding of local and Indigenous histories

• Good Standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

• Valid criminal background check
