We have been involved in many of Canada's most ambitious projects; from dams, bridges, energy transmission and distribution to railroads and transportation. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

Electro Cables, a Nexans company, is growing and is currently hiring for a Supply Chain Manager to support operations at both of our Trenton, Ontario facilities — Sidney Street and Riverside Drive.

As a Supply Chain Manager, you will report directly to the Supply Chain & Purchasing Director PWR Grid&Connect NAM. This position will be dedicated to our Trenton plants in a cable manufacturing plant environment and requires regular interaction with production areas, warehouse operations, office teams, suppliers, and logistics partners.

GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION

One of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalading the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems and services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers.

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end supply chain including inventory management, capacity planning, procurement coordination, warehouse operations, materials flow, and people leadership. This role ensures the plant has the right materials, at the right time, in the right quantity, while balancing customer service, production efficiency, inventory control, and working capital objectives.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT Inventory Management

Own inventory strategy and execution for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, packaging, reels, and critical production components.

Maintain appropriate stock levels to support production continuity while reducing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.

Lead cycle counting, inventory accuracy improvement, and root-cause resolution for inventory discrepancies.

Partner with Finance and Operations to manage working capital, inventory valuation, aging stock, and write-off exposure.

Capacity Planning and Production Support

Lead plant-level capacity planning across machine, labor, material, warehouse, and shipping constraints.

Work with Production, Sales, Customer Service, and Planning to assess order feasibility, promised lead times, backlog health, and schedule risk.

Support S&OP and production planning by providing clear visibility to capacity bottlenecks, material shortages, and supply risks.

Monitor schedule adherence, plant loading, customer service level, and recovery plans for constrained orders.

Maintain accurate lead time standards for each product family, including regular review of production capability, material availability, and capacity constraints to ensure customer commitments are realistic.

Procurement and Supplier Coordination

Manage local procurement activities to ensure timely availability of raw materials, purchased components, and plant supplies.

Escalate supplier risks early and drive recovery plans when shortages threaten production or customer commitments.

Support cost-reduction, supplier rationalization, and compliance initiatives while maintaining service continuity.

Warehouse Management and Materials Flow

Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, staging, shipping, cycle counting, and inventory control.

Ensure safe, accurate, and efficient material flow from receiving through production and final shipment.
