Quarry Shipping Loader Operator

• The Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Loader. This position operates loaders equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop which is used to transport aggregate or other materials, feed hoppers or chutes, and/or stock pile aggregates.
• Completes and reports detailed daily equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Maintains cleanliness inside and outside of equipment to ensure optimal visibility and control.
• Loads material on to customer delivery trucks in a timely manner to prioritize truck turn around times and customer satisfaction.
• Organizes and maintains quarry roads, berms and other site maintenance items.
• Organizes and maintains well-structured and blended stockpiles, reducing cross-contamination and increasing loader efficiency.
• Works closely with production, shipping, safety, and environmental staff to ensure aligned operations.
• Identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities in equipment use or material handling.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

• Education: High School Diploma
• Valid Driver’s license
• Required
  
  Work Experience:
  
  
• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience within the construction industry.
• 1 to 2 years’ experience operating a Loader is required.
• Required Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  
• Knowledge of Loader and other heavy equipment operation.
• Knowledge of road construction materials is an asset.
• Travel Requirements: Potentially within the region.
