General Description
A food production warehouse cleaner is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.
Schedule12 hour shifts (Panama Schedule)
Responsibilities- Mechanical aptitude required.
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs (garbage/food waste removal, etc.).
- Must keep equipment clean after every use.
- Hosing down floors and equipment.
- Will be required to operate Floor Scrubbers.
- Required to work in an environment that is hot, wet & humid.
- Clean and tidy washrooms; restock single unit dispensers containing soap, towels, toilet tissue, and sanitary napkins.
- Remove full garbage & recycling bags from cleaner’s cart, cafeteria, washrooms & offices/conference rooms, and place them in designated areas for transport to garbage bin or compactor.
- Sweeping and mopping floors.
- Wear employer‑specified protective gear, including two pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
- Climbing ladders to elevated platforms.
- Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear).
- Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during extended periods of time.
- Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established by spec for this position.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma.
- Attention to detail.
- Food industry experience and knowledge of cleaning in a food plant environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
- Steel Toe Waterproof Boots ($200 covered).
- All other PPE Provided.
- Benefits after 3 months.
- RRSP after 1 year.
Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.
