CASUAL LABOURER - FACILITIES

Position Type: Temporary Full Time (approximately October 2026 - June 2027)

Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (QSWC - 265 Cannifton Road, Belleville)

Hours: 40 hours per week; varied shifts

Term of Employment: Up to 200 days in a 12-month period

Employee Group: Union - CUPE

Salary: $25.15 per hour, plus $1.85 shift premium where applicable

Closing Date: August 3, 2026 at 4:30 PM

Reporting directly to the Facilities Supervisors, the Casual Labourer will be responsible for maintenance and repairs to various buildings and structures with a focus on external building repairs, drywall repairs and painting.

• Operating city vehicles and equipment as required
• Operating various construction equipment and machinery
• Maintain building cleanliness and sanitation including lobbies, washrooms, hallways, meeting rooms and the outside perimeter of the building(s)
• Operating non-power tools (i.e., hand saw, bolt cutters etc.)
• Performs preventive building maintenance duties such as drywall, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Repair holes in walls and paint interior and exterior walls
• Work independently and as a part of a team
• Undertake other duties as assigned, in support of the City and Departmental objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid full class G Driver’s License and a clean driving record
• Ability to work in a variety of conditions and perform physical labour
• Experience in building maintenance and repairs
• Candidates are required to have their own safety boots
• Satisfactory Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Customer service experience
• General knowledge of plumbing and electrical an asset
• Pool and custodial experience considered an asset
