Water Treatment Operator

Become a Water Treatment Plant Operator with the City of Belleville, where strong operational skills meet community service. Operate and maintain a Level IV facility while ensuring water quality standards are met.

This permanent full-time position in the Environmental Services Department requires you to manage the Level IV Water Treatment Plant on a rotating shift schedule. You will collaborate with a team, operate SCADA systems, perform analytical lab work, and maintain accurate operation logs. This role plays a crucial part in guaranteeing the city’s water meets both legislative and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Level IV Water Treatment plant independently

• Monitor operational parameters using SCADA

• Implement changes to ensure water quality compliance

• Maintain and calibrate facility equipment

• Prepare reports and maintain accurate logs

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required

• Valid OIT in Water Treatment Certification needed

• Minimum one year of operational experience

• Class G Driver’s License with clean record

• Pass a Criminal Record Check prior to employment
