.

The Maintenance Manager is accountable for the proper maintenance, operation and upkeep of the service centre – the external building and grounds, HVAC, refrigeration and all equipment. The Maintenance Manager plans, directs, and schedules the daily activities of the maintenance shop and staff while maintaining a cooperative labour relations environment, with support from the Maintenance Supervisor. Optimal equipment performance is key and critical to achieving the facility’s productivity targets – the Maintenance Manager has the lead to ensure equipment performance objectives are met.

NOTE:

This position will be located in Belleville, ON You will:
  • Foster a strong culture of health and safety, ensuring safe work practices are embedded in all maintenance activities.
  • Operate in accordance with CFIA & Health Canada, AG Canada policies, HACCP requirements, and all applicable food safety, environmental, and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, plans, programs, and work assignments to optimize equipment performance and reliability. Establish, implement, and maintain an effective preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure the maintenance team performs the proper installation, repair, and maintenance of all production equipment, building systems, and facility grounds. Coordinate and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules for mechanics, millwrights, and maintenance personnel.
  • Oversee the ordering, purchasing, and inventory control of maintenance parts, ensuring adequate stock levels while controlling costs.
  • Engage, coordinate, and supervise third-party contractors as required, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. Review and maintain comprehensive service records and work reports.
  • Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of all facility equipment and support systems, including building infrastructure, HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, utilities, and production machinery.
  • Promote and enforce HACCP, food safety, and regulatory requirements in all maintenance activities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance, productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and waste reduction while meeting customer expectations.
  • Foster positive working relationships with maintenance employees, production teams, and non-union staff. Promote employee engagement, teamwork, accountability, and a strong culture of workplace safety.
