Our client in the auto manufacturing space is seeking a fulltime permanent Production Supervisor on a fulltime/perm basis responsible for leading production operations on shift by ensuring a safe, high-quality, and efficient manufacturing environment while driving continuous improvement and team performance.
Location:
onsite Belleville
- Supervise production associates and Cell Leaders to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets
- Monitor staffing and inventory levels to ensure production schedules are met
- Ensure all employees are trained on safety, processes, quality standards, and standardized work
- Lead daily coordination with Cell Leaders and adjust production priorities as required
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback to team members
- Enforce plant safety rules and support audits with JHSC to ensure legislative compliance
- Manage containment of non-conforming product and initiate NCMR processes with Quality
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction, efficiency, and waste elimination
- Develop, maintain, audit, and improve standardized work across assigned areas
- Monitor key performance indicators including scrap, downtime, and production efficiency
- Ensure 5S and housekeeping standards are consistently maintained
- Conduct daily and bi-weekly production and team meetings
- Utilize data and reporting tools (SPC, PPSRs, CARs/PARs) to resolve production issues
- Maximize equipment and process capacity to achieve peak operational efficiency
- Assume Production Manager or Cell Leader duties as required during absences
- 2+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement and process optimization
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel between plants
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, and across multiple facilities
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, noise, heat)
- Knowledge of IATF requirements and manufacturing quality systems preferred
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development
