Position: Social Worker for Indigenous Students HPEDSB
Advance the mental health and well-being of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students as a Social Worker at Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.

Your role involves assessing needs and implementing impactful support measures for Indigenous students.

This position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary staff, reporting to the School Principal and Mental Health Lead. By providing crisis intervention and designing educational programs, you will create a positive impact on the lives of Indigenous students. Your expertise will be essential in liaising with community agencies and implementing tailored support plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess socio-emotional needs and provide crisis support

• Develop mental health programs in collaboration with staff

• Offer trauma-informed support during crises

• Manage student referrals and case follow-up

• Collaborate on the Board’s Mental Health and Addictions Strategy

Requirements:

• Bachelor in Indigenous Social Work or Social Work

• At least 1 year of related experience

• Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures and connections

• Eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers

• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check and transport availability
