Software engineering is changing rapidly. We believe AI will fundamentally change how great teams understand problems, design solutions, build, test, deploy, and operate software. Mach7 Technologies is looking for an Engineering Manager, AI-First Cloud Development to help lead that transformation from our Waterloo office. This is more than a traditional engineering management role. We are looking for a leader who can develop exceptional engineers, strengthen our cloud and Dev Ops capabilities, embrace AI-assisted development, and help make Waterloo an energized center of engineering excellence.

• Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing engineering team

• Recruit and develop exceptional engineering talent

Required

• Experience leading, coaching, and developing software engineers
• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or comparable cloud platforms
• Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, security, scalability, resilience, and observability
• Experience with Dev Ops practices, CI/CD, deployment automation, and infrastructure automation
• A track record of improving engineering practices and delivery
• Strong customer orientation and product thinking
• High standards without ego
• An experimental, continuous-learning mindset
• Curiosity about how AI will reshape software engineering
• Awareness of emerging AI-native delivery models, like AI-DLC
• The ability to create energy and momentum around you

Preferred

• Experience with AWS, JAVA, C#/.NET, React, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes/container platforms, Dev Ops practices and CI/CD, healthcare technology, medical imaging, or regulated software would be particularly valuable.
• Experience with Claude, Claude Code, or comparable AI development tools is highly valued.
