Description:

The Paraprofessional provides instructional and behavioral support to students under the direction and supervision of a certified teacher. This role supports classroom instruction, student engagement, behavior intervention, and daily learning activities. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and committed to promoting a positive and respectful learning environment for all students.

Qualifications: Teacher Aide Certificate

Duties:

• Carry out written and/or verbal instructions provided by the certified teacher under their supervision.
• Assist with non-instructional activities as directed by the teacher. These may include clerical duties, preparing materials, meeting daily and emergency personal care needs of students, and other appropriate tasks.
• Collect data, conduct observations, and complete written summaries of student performance as directed by the teacher.
• Implement class-wide and individualized behavior plans as assigned by the teacher.
• Interact appropriately with students, treating them with dignity and respect at all times.
• Assist the teacher with group activities as needed.
• Report to the appropriate classroom teacher(s) and fulfill duties assigned by that teacher or teachers.
• Serve as a substitute teacher when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
