Additional Information About the Role- REQUIRED: License or certification in RDMS or equivalent
- Shift: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, rotating days Monday‑Friday
- Rotating call during the week shared between six people
- Weekend call every 6th weekend; rotating holiday call only
Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute‑care hospital offering medical and surgical services, critical and emergency care, and pediatric emergency care. It provides a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services, heart and vascular care, and has been designated by the American College of Radiology as a Lung Cancer Screening Center. Since 2008, it has been Magnet®‑recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94‑bed all‑private suite hospital, was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services, and critical care. The Ultrasound Department offers a wide variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures for inpatients and outpatients.
The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging—including abdominal, small‑parts and obstetric studies—to aid diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. The sonographer also assists with needle procedures (e.g., biopsies, drainages, needle placements) and may perform vascular imaging.
Responsibilities- Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment.
- Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
- Performs studies independently; may perform studies on‑call, portable examinations, and at other sites as required.
- Associate or Trade School Equivalence

- 2 years of sonography experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- RDCS or equivalent
