Description

As the Automation Lead, you will be responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, using highly specialized pharmacy automation, in accordance with standard departmental procedures. You will be responsible for assisting the pharmacists with supervising daily pharmacy operations in the automation department, training of automation pharmacy staff, creating staff schedules for the department, ordering and maintaining supplies, monitoring KPI’s for automation and maintaining the department budget.

The automation specialist technicians will report to the Automation Lead Pharmacy Technician. Additionally, you will provide excellent customer service and quality of service to all patients and customers and collaborate with the Director of Operations on improving customer experience. While your primary role will be in the automation department, you will also assist with preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures wherever needed.

Essential Duties include the following

  • Performs duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies as outlined in the department operations manual.
  • Demonstrates competence in the area of regulatory compliance and ensures that the property stays in regulatory compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Supervises a team of 2-5 pharmacy technicians, fostering a positive culture and maintaining a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Ensures all deadlines related to cycle fill production and delivery are met; if unexpected challenges arise, must be willing
