Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in an acute care setting requiring cardiac care skills and an active IL RN license.

• Work in the Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
• Fast-paced cardiac patient population with a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Responsible for managing cardiac drips, sheath pulls, and central line care
• 12-hour night shifts, three shifts per week, from 18:45 to 07:15
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating to all inpatient units at both campuses as needed
• Epic EMR is used and experience with Epic is required
• Unit has 40 staffed beds within a 222-bed facility
• Navy scrubs are required
• Perform hourly rounding and bedside shift reports for all patients
• No on-call duties are required
• Must not reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during the first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Magnet designated hospital environment

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required
• Experience with cardiac drips, sheath pulls, and central line management required
• Epic charting experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted
