Are you ready to make a difference? As an RN First Assist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional perioperative nursing support. You’ll assist surgeons during operations, particularly in orthopedics, neurology, and general surgeries. This is a CALL POSITION at Mercy St. Louis Hospital Operating Room . We are seeking candidates with at least two years of intraoperative experience , RN licensure, and certifications such as CNOR and RN-First Assistant . Your role will emphasize collaborative patient care, professional accountability, and alignment with Mercy’s mission and values.

• Utilize the nursing process to provide top-notch patient care.
• Maintain professional accountability for the care of assigned patients.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers.
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with other departments.
• Uphold patient rights and confidentiality.
• Perform duties in alignment with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

At Mercy, our Operating Room conducts a variety of cases, including Orthopedics, Neurology, and General Services. RNs are typically hired into specialty pods, with opportunities for cross-training in other areas. As an RN First Assistant, you will practice perioperative nursing, assisting surgeons with your acquired knowledge, skills, and judgment.

• Licensure: RN License in the state of MO
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of intraoperative experience
• Certifications:
  • CNOR and RN-First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer.
  • BLS/ACLS required within the first year.
• Preferred Education: BSN Degree
