Experience in CVOR and general OR or hybrid OR preferred. Strong competency to independently scrub cardiac/open heart procedures.
Description:
The shift will start at 0645 and end k schedules may adjust to accommodate the operating room open-heart surgery schedule. If there are no hearts scheduled, the nurse may fill into the operating room as needed. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required. First-time travelers are accepted. There are no weekend or holiday requirements, except for call shifts. Call is required.
Call shifts are from the end of the shift at 0630 on weeknights and from 0630 to 0630 on weekends. The amount of call will vary based on scheduling needs and will be self-scheduled within a small open-heart team. The primary work location may require floating to other campuses. Interdisciplinary support will be available. The focus of the primary work assignment will be on open-heart surgery.
Experience in endovascular/hybrid, neuro-spine, ENT, orthopedic, and robotic specialties is a plus. The candidate will also be required to function in a circulator role. Daily patient census is approximately 35. The daily operating room count is 12. Required skills include aortic aneurysm repair, CABG, and other cardiac procedures. Experience with EPIC charting is required.
