Job Title:
Oncology Registered Nurse
Administer a range of treatments including chemotherapy, biotherapy, antibiotics, and injections, while managing symptoms and educating patients. Deliver and document nursing care using a structured clinical approach. Proficient in administering various therapies such as IV infusions, monoclonal antibodies, and subcutaneous/intramuscular injections. Respond appropriately to adverse reactions during treatment, following established oncology safety protocols. Maintain compliance with documentation standards and regulations governing patient health information.
Apply knowledge of safety and procedural guidelines acquired through ongoing training and hands-on experience.
- Conduct continuous patient assessments and record findings from all relevant sources.
- Collaborate with other clinical staff to support comprehensive patient care.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and well-equipped care environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Follow all established clinical protocols and operational procedures.
- Support other areas of the clinic such as pharmacy, triage, laboratory services, immunizations, and scheduling as needed.
- Current RN License
- BLS Certification
- 2 years’ experience in medical oncology preferred
- Experience in an outpatient infusion center
- ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification or willingness to obtain within a year
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience administering chemotherapy
- BSN degree preferred
- ONS certification ideal
- Proficiency in oncology nursing and infusion techniques
Role operates Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no on-call or weekend shifts. The practice is situated across three separate locations, with this role primarily based at one site but expected to be flexible as needed. Typical patient volume is approximately 10–12 individuals per day, allowing for focused and personalized care. Nurses may occasionally travel to a nearby affiliated location in Roselle, NJ, to support staffing needs.
Each location is staffed with up to 10 nurses when fully operational, and the environment promotes collaboration and cross-coverage among locations to ensure continuity of care. The role requires a full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. It involves standing and walking for extensive periods and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are necessary.
Full onsite position in Belleville, NJ.
