Principal​/Sr Principal Systems Engineer; SkillBridge

Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to support our Defense Systems branch in Bellevue, NE. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in targeting, missile planning, and software development along with strong communication and leadership skills.

• Provide training to customers on targeting and mission‑planning tactics using SNAPS and EPD software.
• Gather and transform customer inputs into detailed software requirements.
• Collaborate with software designers and engineers throughout the planning, design, development, and deployment of software systems.
• Test existing and new capabilities of the targeting and planning software.
• Demonstrate progress and results to customers on a regular basis.
• Act as a teaching resource for targeting mission‑planning software, strategies, and NC2 domain to customers and developers.
• Work on‑site in Bellevue, NE and travel to USSTRATCOM as needed.

• A high school diploma with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• A bachelor’s in science degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• A master’s in science degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• At least 3 years of experience in targeting, ballistic missile planning, operations, and employment
• Must possess an active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to teach targeting mission‑planning software, strategies, and NC2 domain to customer and developers
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with small technical teams
• Primary level salary range: $92,600 – $139,000

• A high school diploma with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience
• A bachelor’s in science degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
• A master’s in science degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
• At least 3 years of experience in targeting, ballistic missile planning, operations, and employment
• Must possess an active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to teach targeting mission‑planning software, strategies, and NC2 domain to customer and developers
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with small technical teams
• Secondary level salary range: $114,900 – $172,300

• Working knowledge of targeting strategies for mission planning via N3
• Understanding and ability to write software requirements
• Design and plan training and testing scenarios
• Understanding of SMPES
• Previous experience as an instructor
• Familiarity with Oracle SQL
• Familiarity with Visual Basic for Applications
