Overview
SALES LEADER – Part-Time
We are looking for part-time Sales Leaders who are enthusiastic, energetic, friendly, and hard-working. The Sales Leader provides exemplary selling and customer service designed to improve the productivity and profitability of the store, offers product recommendations and solutions, and serves as a role model of best practice retail execution. The role focuses on sales, service, and relationship-building at all times, with added leadership responsibilities such as sharing product knowledge, incorporating store communications, and managing daily tasks as assigned by the Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager, including opening and/or closing the store.
The Sales Leader also assists with inventory management, product sets, stocking, housekeeping, and stockroom duties, and collaborates with the corporate store team and reports directly to the Store Manager.
- Creating and maintaining a warm, inviting, easy-to-navigate shopping environment.
- Building and sharing expertise on products, promotions, services, and brand rewards programs – tailored to a wide range of shopper needs and occasions.
- Serving as support for store management with the team.
- Assisting customers in finding the right card and gift solutions to fulfill their missions of caring and connecting.
- Sharing and showcasing stories and communities of caring to reinforce the cycle of kindness.
- Handling store operations to make interactions easy and convenient for shoppers – product replenishment & merchandising, ringing sales, processing shipments, managing inventory, fulfilling orders, curbside deliveries, etc.
- Delivering an exceptional consumer shopping experience that leaves guests inspired, enabled, affirmed, and eager to return.
- Working as a team to help meet store sales goals, ensuring customers leave with everything they needed and a few things they didn’t know they needed.
- Upholding all company policies and practices.
- Performing/completing other duties or special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (required for candidates to be considered)
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior retail experience, sales, or customer service.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to open and close the store a minimum of three (3) times per week, and also work two (2) weekend shifts per month.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business, including events, holidays, evenings and weekends.
- Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in (specialty) retail, sales, or customer service.
- Strong customer-focused engagement and consultative selling skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees. Strong sense of urgency, flexibility and willingness to adapt to change.
- Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate. Proficiency and comfort using a computer and other technology.
- Desire and ability to learn the business.
- Ability to have access to store cash and product assets, and will be accountable for maintaining accurate records and/or deposits.
- Ability to assist in the training of new store employees and work closely with store management to understand new policies, operational changes, and training initiatives.
- Must be able to continuously stand/walk, push/pull, lift/carry up to 10 pounds, utilize fine finger movement for keyboard operation, writing, and other tasks, and grasp/hold with hands and fingers.
- Must be able to frequently bend at the waist, climb/work at heights, kneel and squat, lift/carry up to 40 pounds, and reach overhead.
- Must be able to occasionally balance on uneven surfaces, lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to rarely/infrequently drive or travel, lift/carry up to 75 pounds, or sit during performance of duties.
- Must be able to continuously communicate with customers, co-workers, vendors, in-person or by phone.
