Position Summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is searching for a Tax Manager to join our fast‑growing firm. The Tax Manager will manage tax assignments as designated by the Principal or Partner, supervise and mentor Staff and Senior Accountants, solve technical problems independently, strengthen and develop client relationships, and increase office profitability. Some positions may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements.

Your Contributions And Responsibilities
  • Assume primary responsibility for client engagements, including planning, staffing, timing, technical issues and other decisions.
  • Oversee completion of engagements, identify and solve problem areas during the engagement with minimal oversight.
  • Conduct thorough engagement reviews.
  • Supervise and mentor Supervisors, Senior Accountants and Staff, guiding and educating them in technical areas and professional development.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations for assigned staff and manage employee performance conversations.
  • Assist Principals and Partners with identifying, meeting and pursuing new clients.
  • Turn technical knowledge into high‑value opportunities for Firm clients.
  • Promote the Firm’s image through conference panels, publications, recruiting events, in‑house and client trainings.
  • Collaborate with Partners, employees, clients and prospects to enhance the Novogradac brand.
  • Develop, strengthen and grow client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness and service orientation.
  • Seek out and complete training courses to enhance skills in targeted industries.
  • Increase office profitability by managing your time and the time of Staff and Senior Accountants efficiently.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Background and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree is a plus), and 3‑7+ years of experience in public accounting.
  • CPA license required.
  • Expert understanding of accounting and tax rules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong personal, technical and professional judgment.
  • Accurate, time‑efficient work with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and follow‑through skills.
  • Effectively prioritize a fast‑paced, varied workload.
  • Accept constructive feedback from Partners and make adjustments as directed.
  • Collaborate and foster a productive, team‑oriented environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) and report writing tools.
  • Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
  • Gain the confidence of the existing Partner group.
  • Meet internal Firm deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed and travel domestically if required.

  • Compensation: $118,000 - $158,000 depending on experience; more is possible if experience dictates.
