Event Technician (Part Time), Audio Visual - Inter Continental Bellevue
Position Overview
A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Key Job Responsibilities- Accurately and timely set up, operate, and break down basic audiovisual equipment.
- Exceed expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Maintain positive relationships with all clients through effective communication.
- Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
- Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
- Demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve equipment and software issues.
- Handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Use equipment sheets to determine scheduled setup and strike.
- Interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment.
- Increase revenue by utilizing floor up‑selling techniques.
- Finalize invoices with clients.
- Complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
- High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred.
- Internal applicants must complete all training and certifications required by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program within one year.
- External applicants must complete all training and certifications required for this position within one year.
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 1 year of audio‑visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required for team members who operate company vehicles.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Team members must be able to meet the physical demands outlined below to successfully perform the essential job functions.

- Stooping: 2‑3 hours
- Crawling: 2‑3 hours
- Kneeling: 2‑3 hours
- Bending: 2‑3 hours
- Reaching (above head): 2‑3 hours
- Grasping: 4‑5 hours
Hotel or convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust. Working times include irregular hours, on‑call status, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
CompensationHourly Pay Range: $21.30 – $21.50 per hour.
