Position: AMC (American Mathematics Competition) Test Prep Tutor


JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking to hire an experienced AMC (Australian Mathematics Competition) Test Prep Tutor to be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to enhance students' mathematical proficiency in preparation for their AMC exams. We are looking for an AMC tutor who can cover AMC 8, AMC 10, and AMC 12. Your expertise will be vital in creating engaging and innovative mathematics lessons that develop students’ critical thinking, test taking skills, confidence and problem solving abilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Math Instructor to make a positive impact on our students and their learning goals. This is a Flexible, Part-Time opportunity.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions focused on AMC preparation.
  • Develop customized lesson plans and materials tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Help students understand key mathematical concepts and strategies for solving AMC problems.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing feedback and motivation.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math or any related field (required)
  • Master's degree in Math or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred)
  • 1 year experience as a Math instructor or tutor, specifically in AMC tutoring (required)
  • Successful track record of developing student’s knowledge in learning AMC (required)
  • Successful results from AMC tutoring
  • Professional communication skills (both spoken and written)
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with a team
  • Enthusiastic about working with students and parents
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented (attention to detail and accuracy are imperative)
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities

Possible shifts are between M-F 3pm - 8pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm
