System One is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Analyst to support our client in the advanced nuclear industry.
This role focuses on analyzing the mechanical performance of core components operating in high‑temperature and high‑fluence environments. The analyst will work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team developing next‑generation nuclear reactor technology.

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural and stress analysis for core assemblies using FEA tools and hand calculations.
  • Prepare and present analysis results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interface with the Core Component Design team to support engineering design activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to gather requirements and technical inputs.
  • Apply nuclear industry best practices to ensure high‑quality engineering standards.
  • Proactively identify process improvements and enhancement opportunities.
  • Conduct peer reviews to ensure compliance with engineering quality assurance plans.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for assigned analysis tasks.
Key Qualifications
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering;
    Aerospace, Nuclear, or Civil Engineering degrees will also be considered.
  • Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years with a B.S.
  • 2+ years with an M.S.
  • 0+ years with a Ph.D.
  • Proficient in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods, and commercial analysis tools (ANSYS required; Solid Works preferred).
  • Strong understanding of solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, and fatigue failure.
  • Demonstrated experience in structural analysis, buckling, thermal analysis, and/or creep‑fatigue/inelastic analysis.
  • Familiarity with stringent QA programs such as ASME NQA‑1, MIL‑Q‑9858A, or ISO‑9000.
  • Experience working with pressure equipment design codes (ASME BPVC Section III Div. 1 & 5, Section VIII Div. 2, API 579‑1).
  • Experienced with conceptual design and sizing for equipment and structural components using basic calculations and Mathcad.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative teamwork are highly desired.
  • Must demonstrate trust, integrity, open communication, respect, and a commitment to fostering teamwork.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Highly skilled in FEA of reactor core components using ANSYS and/or ABAQUS.
  • Strong understanding and implementation experience with ASME BPVC Section III and/or Section VIII.
  • Knowledgeable in seismic design requirements (ASCE 4, ASCE 43).
  • Working knowledge of computer code development and programming tools such as Python.
  • Proficient with Mathcad.
  • Prior experience in the nuclear industry is strongly preferred.
