Senior or Principal Environmental Engineer – Full‑time, Bellevue/Seattle, Washington
Position Summary
Farallon Consulting, L.L.C. is hiring a full‑time Senior or Principal Environmental/Remediation Engineer to serve in our Bellevue or Seattle office. This hybrid, exempt role involves technical leadership, project management, and business development across a broad range of environmental projects.
Farallon is an employee‑owned consulting firm that specializes in environmental due diligence, site investigation and cleanup, engineering and remediation services, stormwater management, natural resources and permitting, and mediation and litigation support. Headquarters are in Bellevue, Washington, with additional offices in Seattle, Bellingham, Portland, Baker City, Oakland, and Irvine.

- Leading projects through site assessment, investigation, cleanup strategy development, construction, and closure.
- Preparing and overseeing feasibility studies, system design documents, bid specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Developing and reviewing remedial cost estimates throughout a project’s life.
- Providing technical and project management leadership to meet scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Managing project financial performance and client relationships for multiple projects.
- Coaching and mentoring staff.
- Previous consulting or professional services experience with multiple clients.
- Strong engineering design experience for multiple contaminants and remedial technologies.
- Experience developing cleanup strategies and cost estimates.
- Well‑versed knowledge of environmental regulations (MTCA, RCRA, CERCLA, etc.).
- Permitting experience (PSCAA, CSGP, NPDES, etc.).
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams on complex cleanup actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for proposals, reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Commitment to safety and state/federal health and safety requirements.
- ABET‑certified Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- Professional license in Washington state.
- At least 15 years of professional environmental consulting experience in Washington, including site investigations and remediation system design.
- Availability to travel as required for project and business development work.
- Experience communicating with local, state, and federal regulators.
- Experience developing new clients and practices with a strong track record.
- Familiarity with GIS, data management, and laboratory analytical procedures.
- Experience with voluntary cleanups and closure through the Voluntary Cleanup Program.
- Specialized engineering design knowledge such as PFAS cleanup, air‑compliance, emissions control, or sediment cleanup.
- Knowledge of local stormwater regulations and permit compliance.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment- Hybrid schedule with flexible in‑office days in Seattle or Bellevue.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer, and perform typical office duties.

Base salary range:
Senior level $120,000 – $160,000;
Principal level up to $185,000. Compensation is based on education, experience, and internal equity. Salary ranges are reviewed annually.
