Water/Wastewater Engineer –
HDR

At HDR, employee‑owners create an inclusive environment where each of us is valued and respected. As part of HDR’s Washington Water Business Group, you will support multidisciplinary teams on complex water/wastewater projects such as pump stations, pipelines, and treatment facilities.

• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, and engineering design.
• Support project closeout and work closely with senior engineers / project managers for guidance.
• Function effectively in various roles on integrated project teams.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians (as needed).

• Registered Professional Engineer in Washington or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing and supporting implementation of pipeline, pump station and/or treatment projects.
• Master’s degree.
• Software knowledge:
  AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Office; scheduling software, hydraulic or process modeling experience a plus.
• Active participation in water/wastewater industry associations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
• Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task.

Salary ranges by location: {Gig Harbor, WA}: $82,544–$117,920
; {Olympia, WA}: $77,968.80–$107,200
; {Seattle, WA/Bellevue, WA/Everett, WA}: $90,048–$128,640
; {Spokane, WA}: $86,564–$117,116
