Join Amazon to help design and deploy high impact retrofit programs and process re‑engineering projects for AMXL Fulfillment Centers, Delivery Stations, and Sort Centers. This role owns programs from ideation through execution and validation, improving customer and associate experience while increasing safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Own end‑to‑end process design and site layout creation for each new business initiative and process improvement project.
- Determine all resources required for each retrofit project—site layout, traffic plans, material flow, equipment specification, and operations scheduling.
- Consolidate retrofit efforts from change management to post‑launch support, streamlining launch work, minimizing disruption, and reducing launch costs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions in very short periods.
- Manage multiple high‑visibility projects simultaneously while influencing, negotiating, and communicating with partners, contractors, and vendors.
- Cross‑pollinate best practices between engineering and operations teams.
- Provide technical leadership for large‑scale engineering projects, including ergonomic design improvements.
- Drive standardization and documentation of core design and process elements for scalable network growth using Lean principles.
- Own and deliver post‑launch reviews and customer feedback, incorporating insights into future projects.
- 5+ years of design/innovation, R&D, manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering experience.
- Experience managing and leading engineering design projects with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience designing complex systems for automation in logistics or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D and estimating material handling and storage systems.
- Experience modeling or simulating large‑scale distribution centers.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, statistical analysis, and decision making.
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and high‑speed manufacturing.
- Experience with design‑in‑safety and Lean process design.

Compensation ranges from $89,400 to $185,000 per year, depending on geographic market. Additional equity, sign‑on payments, and benefits may be included.
