Addison Group is representing a growing and dynamic real estate lending firm in the Bellevue, WA area. We are recruiting for an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for overseeing internal financial reporting processes, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role will play a key part in enhancing reporting accuracy, driving operational improvements, and contributing to the financial leadership of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Leads the external audit process, coordinating deliverables and serving as the main liaison with auditors.
• Ensures compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and industry regulations.
• Conducts technical accounting research and implements relevant accounting standards.
• Collaborates cross-functionally with FP&A, legal, and capital markets teams to support financial decision-making.
• Identifies and drives process improvements across reporting systems and workflows.
• Supports regulatory and investor reporting requirements, as applicable.
• Assist with tax matters and partner with external tax resources and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Current or previous public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong exposure to asset management, investment, lending, or financial services industry is required.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and technical accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Net Suite or similar accounting systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
