Overview
Overlake Hospital is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician for the Sterile Processing Department. The Certified Sterile Technician will be responsible for the technical functional tasks involved in the decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of all reprocessed items and equipment, including full surgical instrument trays. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for developing and maintaining systems and projects under the direction of the shift supervisor.

Pay and Sign-On BonusPay Range:
Hourly $23.99 - $38.87
Eligible for Sign On Bonus:
- Certified Central Processing Tech - $5,000
- Central Processing Tech - $2,500
- Perform decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of all reprocessed items and equipment, including full surgical instrument trays.
- Develop and maintain systems and projects under the direction of the shift supervisor.
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent;
Surgical Processing Technician course completion strongly preferred. - Certification:
Must obtain CRSCT certification within one year of hire date; current CRCST or CBSPD certification is preferred for some roles. - Experience:
One year of sterile processing experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred. - Communication:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. - Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of decontamination and sterilization principles; understanding of identification and handling of surgical instrumentation; ability to assemble full trays, power equipment, and scopes. - Skills:
Ability to learn handling of surgical instrumentation, perform routine tasks without direct supervision, assist and support new personnel during training, and undertake non-routine tasks/projects with initiative. - Physical:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift instrument sets weighing approximately 30 pounds; work environment is clean, climate-controlled, and well-lit.
