Medical Technologist - Core Lab (Full Time / Evenings)

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform and evaluate laboratory tests, establish laboratory procedures, and evaluate data for quality and accuracy. The role also involves inventory, specimen collection, quality control, quality assurance, training, proficiency testing, reagent and instrument preparation, problem solving, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and oversight of MLT employees.

Pay Range
Hourly: $30.22 - $57.09

• Perform and evaluate laboratory tests.
• Establish and modify laboratory procedures.
• Evaluate laboratory data for quality and accuracy.
• Handle inventory, specimen collection, quality control, and quality assurance.
• Conduct training, proficiency testing, reagent/instrument preparation.
• Perform problem solving, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Provide oversight to the work of MLT employees.

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biological Sciences required.
• Evidence of foreign degree equivalency if applicable.
• Minimum one year experience in a hospital-based lab preferred.
• Experience with laboratory information system and automated interfaced instruments.
• Good customer service, technical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Certification: ASCP-MT, ASCP-MLS, NCA-CLS, CSMLS Canada, AMT-MLS, or a single specialty certification (H, C, M, MB).

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent; 90 quarter hours/60 semester hours credit military training program acceptable.
• NAACS accredited MLT program preferred; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One year experience in a hospital-based lab preferred (generalist).
• Certification required within six months of hire: ASCP-MLT/CLT, AAB bioanalyst, NCA-CLT, NBMLT Canada.
