In this role you will perform and coordinate the functions of Health Safety & Environmental Coordinator, working closely with Operations & Field Crew, HR and Management as well as developing relationships with external stakeholders, therefore critical to the success of this role is proven record of continuous improvement programmes in OHS compliance internally and to our external clients.
The role is full-time and based in Bellevue. A four day working week may be considered for the right candidate. There may be some site travel where required.
Responsibilities- The administration and implementation of Health, Safety and Environment Plan (HSE Plan)
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure continual compliance to the HSE Plan.
- Present site Safety Training to build HSE competency and compliance
- Ensure HSE performance standards are met. Exposing and addressing potential HSE problem areas and assisting in finding solutions in a positive and timely manner
- Respond to HSE issues such as serious accident investigations and control issues
- Maintain simple auditing systems to ensure all contractual obligations, compliance and systems are being maintained.
- Assist with injury management and workers compensation cases where required
- Assist with holding regular staff tool box meetings in the company premises.
- Mining Industry experience (preferred but not essential)
- Working knowledge of State and Federal legislation in regards to occupation health and safety
- Experience in all aspects of OHS systems including development, implementation and monitoring for ISO Standards 45:001, 14:001 and 9001
- Minimum 5+ years of OHS experience is required
- Ability to understand and apply policy and procedures
- Ability to conduct work place investigations and report findings
- Exceptional communication and client relationship skills
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
- Tertiary qualifications in OHS or similar
- Confident in promoting safe behaviours
- Proactive and willing to step in when needed
- Team focused and easy to work with
- Strong problem-solver who enjoys collaborating
