We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Software Engineer in Test to join our Infrastructure Quality team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and security of the tools and infrastructure that enable our continuous deployment (CD) pipelines and tooling. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automated testing, infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC), and working within a cloud‑infrastructure environment.
Job Duties And Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies for deployment tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Terraform, Ansible, custom deployment scripts).
- Build robust, scalable, and reusable automated test frameworks and scripts using programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Bash.
- Execute functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and security testing specific to infrastructure and deployment workflows.
- Verify correct provisioning, configuration, and state management of infrastructure components deployed by our tools.
- Ensure CD pipelines are resilient, efficient, and meet defined service level objectives.
- Collaborate with Deployment, Dev Ops, and Development teams to understand new features and infrastructure requirements, integrating quality assurance early in the development lifecycle.
- Track and report testing progress, defect metrics, and quality status to stakeholders. Proactively identify defects, inconsistencies, and potential bottlenecks in the deployment toolchain and IaC modules.
- Participate in on‑call rotations for production escalations and alerts.
- 2+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or a similar role with a strong focus on automation.
- 2+ years of solid understanding of core concepts in cloud computing (AWS or GCP) and IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- 2+ years of experience in a SaaS‑based environment.
- Experience in technologies and services such as Selenium (preferably Java), TestNG, log management tools (Splunk/Grafana), Docker, Kubernetes, and CD tools (Spinnaker, ArgoCD, custom deployment tools).
- 2 years of Java‑ or Python‑based test automation development.
- 2 years of experience developing and executing end‑to‑end or system test plans.
- Experience working with agile release cycles and SDLC.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 2‑5 years of experience as a quality engineer or software engineer.
- Must be able to access federal environments and/or protected federal data. Candidates must submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status (e.g., U.S. Citizen, National, LPF, Refugee, or Asylee) upon hire.
- Annual base salary range for San Francisco Bay Area: $128,000—$192,000 USD.
- Annual base salary range for California (excl. Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington: $114,000—$155,000 USD.
- Salary depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
