Data Analyst, AI Engineer
Technical Co-Founder Opportunity — Shopint.
AI
We are aiming for Y Combinator. We’re building with a YC mindset: high ownership, fast iteration, and strong technical foundations.
About ShopintShopint is an AI-powered product review analysis platform focused on helping people understand large volumes of publicly available customer feedback. We use AI to surface recurring patterns, highlight common issues, and generate structured insights—without collecting any personal user data. We’re building carefully, but moving fast. Shopint is currently in early beta / demo stage. We are intentionally validating fundamentals before any full B2C launch.
TheOpportunity
We’re looking for a strong technical co‑founder to own backend architecture and database systems and help lead the transition toward a B2B‑ready platform. This is a co‑founder‑level role with meaningful equity, not a contractor or short‑term engagement. We are targeting YC‑level execution. This role is for someone who moves fast, thinks clearly, and is comfortable operating under early‑stage startup pressure.
What We Need (Database-First)Database Architecture (Critical)
- Design scalable, production‑grade database schemas
- Own event‑based data models for B2C user behavior
- Build aggregation pipelines for B2B analytics and reporting
- Make deliberate tradeoffs around performance, cost, and data retention
Backend Infrastructure
- Scale backend systems end‑to‑end
- Implement robust event tracking, batching, and aggregation jobs
- Own data reliability and system correctness
B2B Platform Development
- Build admin and analytics dashboards
- Design enterprise‑grade APIs
- Implement multi‑tenant architecture
User Behavior Analytics
- Design privacy‑first event tracking (no PII)
- Build analytics pipelines from browser extension → backend → database
- Create optimized views for fast analytical queries
AI Pipeline Optimization
- Optimize AI calls for accuracy, caching, and cost efficiency
- 5+ years backend engineering experience
- Deep database expertise (schema design, migrations, performance tuning)
- Experience owning event‑based or behavior data systems
- Strong understanding of indexing, aggregation, and query optimization
- Experience with analytics or tracking pipelines at scale
- API design experience (REST, authentication, rate limiting)
- Production cloud infrastructure experience
- Experience working with AI or LLM‑backed systems
- B2B SaaS experience (multi‑tenant systems, API keys, webhooks)
- Data engineering or ETL pipelines
- Browser extension backend integration
- Privacy or compliance awareness (GDPR / CCPA concepts)
Why This Matters
We’re exploring a shift from B2C experimentation to B2B use cases, where retailers, brands, and research teams need aggregated, privacy‑safe insights, not raw data. At this stage, database design and analytics architecture are the product. A strong data foundation is essential for scaling responsibly and unlocking B2B value.
What You’ll Get- Co‑founder‑level equity stake
- Technical leadership from day one
- Real ownership over architecture and long‑term direction
- Opportunity to build a product with durable impact
- Growth path as we move from beta toward B2B
This is a high‑ownership, high‑expectation role.
