Analytics Engineer – Weights & Biases (Core Weave)
Join as an Analytics Engineer at Weights & Biases, which has recently been integrated with Core Weave, the AI Hyperscaler. The team is focused on building a unified platform to accelerate AI development, from experiment tracking and model optimization to high‑performance training clusters and inference at scale.
What You’ll Do- Own and maintain the dbt data layer and related analytics infrastructure.
- Drive operational excellence, cost and performance optimization, and self‑service analytics at scale.
- Partner with analysts, data scientists, and platform engineers to strengthen foundations and enable better decision‑making.
- Build and maintain a massive data platform that includes reporting, datasets, pipelines, and model training for customer growth, churn risk, spam and abuse detection, and exploratory benchmarks.
Core data engineering and analytics engineering expertise with a focus on dbt, Big Query, orchestration, data quality, and production deployment practices.
Who You Are- Deep knowledge of data engineering and analytics engineering workflows at scale, with a record of operational excellence.
- Expert with dbt (core or Cloud): model design, incremental strategies, macros/packages, testing, documentation, and CI/CD.
- Strong SQL and warehouse design for Big Query with partitioning, clustering, materializations, and multi‑TB/PB scale tuning.
- Experience with orchestration (Dagster preferred; Airflow acceptable) and production‑grade deployment practices.
- Familiar with data quality frameworks such as dbt tests, Great Expectations, or data contracts and SLA/SLO design.
- Proficient in Python for orchestration, utilities, and light data tooling;
Git‑based workflows. - Understanding of product telemetry, logging standards, and event modeling for SaaS web apps.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to align analysts, engineers, and stakeholders on semantics and standards.
- Experience with BI performance tuning and governance (e.g., Hex).
- Experience building semantic/metrics layers and catalogs using dbt exposures, Open Lineage, Data Hub, Amundsen, or Atlan.
- Prior work migrating dbt Cloud to Dagster or similar orchestrators.
- Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and terminology.
- Terraform or infra‑as‑code exposure on GCP.
- Experience designing anomaly detection or rule‑based alerting for KPIs.

$139,000 to $204,000 per year, commensurate with experience and location; includes discretionary bonus, equity awards, and comprehensive benefits.
