We're seeking a professional with a strong background in systems infrastructure and best‑practice planning methods. The ideal candidate is comfortable interacting with numerous data sources and can present complex information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
As a Capacity Planning Analyst, you'll own the process of evaluating and forecasting infrastructure demand, with a specific focus on our customers' critical events. You'll partner directly with customer success managers and a wide range of engineering teams to ensure our systems are ready for major usage spikes, such as open enrollment, holiday sales, or other high‑traffic events.
Responsibilities- Analyze and evaluate customer machine metrics to proactively identify potential capacity issues.
- Partner with product owners to understand their service architecture, roadmaps, and business forecasts to produce accurate infrastructure demand forecasts for compute, storage, and network resources.
- Develop and present clear recommendations to engineering teams for increasing capacity when necessary to prevent performance issues and ensure customer trust.
- Act as a subject matter expert for internal teams, providing direct insights and analyses that customer success managers can relay to our customers.
- Work cross‑functionally with senior product owners, technical service teams, and data science professionals to optimize processes and contribute to building new automation tools.
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with internal stakeholders to support the continued success of our products.
- 8+ years of proven experience in operations, business intelligence, strategy and/or capacity planning.
- Strong analytical skills with experience consolidating complex datasets across various unconnected systems and platforms to tell a clear story.
- Fundamental knowledge of systems infrastructure and how services interact with underlying hardware.
- Experience building statistical models.
- Strong interpersonal and executive presentation skills for effective partnership and long‑range planning.
- Experience presenting data in a consistent and repeatable manner to various stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail with a focus on data quality.
- A collaborative spirit and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with SQL.
- A related technical degree required.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure is beneficial.
- The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A passion for problem‑solving and ensuring customer success.
The typical base salary range for this position is $167,300 - $253,000 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $200,800 - $276,100 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
