Agentic Data Specialist (Multiple Levels)
Join Salesforce as an Agentic Data Specialist (Multiple Levels) on our Forward Deployed Engineering Team. You will serve as the crucial link between our advanced AI agents and the broader enterprise technology landscape, designing, building, and managing the data and integrations that enable our Agentforce agents to take meaningful, autonomous actions across various business systems.
About the RoleWe are seeking a technically adept and innovative Agentic Data Specialist to orchestrate a collaborative network of specialized AI agents. You will connect agents to systems, ensure seamless collaboration among them, and enable AI to act upon its insights.
Your Impact- Data Flow and Transformation:
Manage real‑time data flow to and from the AI agent, implementing necessary transformations for system compatibility. - Architect AI Grounding Systems:
Design cutting‑edge AI data integration technologies such as RAG, vector databases, search indexes, and knowledge bases. - Orchestrate Multi‑Agent Systems & Communications:
Define architecture and protocols to govern, monitor, and ensure efficient collaboration among specialized AI agents. - System & Agent Integration Architecture:
Design robust, scalable, and secure integration patterns that connect Agentforce to enterprise applications. - Define LLM Strategy:
Evaluate, select, and optimize foundational and frontier models for enterprise AI deployments. - Ensure Salesforce Data Governance:
Securely integrate, transform, and govern structured and unstructured data within Salesforce and external systems. - Build Scalable and Secure Systems:
Leverage message queues, event‑driven architecture, and distributed systems to build resilient workflows with secure authentication and authorization protocols. - API Development and Management:
Develop, deploy, and maintain custom APIs (REST, SOAP, webhooks) for seamless data exchange. - Enable Workflow Automation:
Translate complex business processes into automated, agent‑driven workflows. - Troubleshooting and Optimization:
Monitor integration health and performance, proactively resolve issues, and optimize workflows for speed and reliability.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or integrations, including Data Engineer, Data Architect or Data Scientist roles.
- Proficiency with one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
- Expertise in AI data integration, including RAG, vector databases, search indexes, and knowledge bases.
- Deep understanding of structured and unstructured data management within Salesforce (CRM, Data Cloud) and external systems, encompassing integration, transformation (ETL/ELT), and governance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the LLM landscape, with tooling ecosystem familiarity.
- Experience with JSON, XML, and data transformation techniques.
- Expertise in API design and development (REST, SOAP, webhooks).
- Knowledge of message queues, event‑driven architecture, and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of AI agent operations and multi‑agent systems.
- Hands‑on with an enterprise integration platform (iPaaS) such as Mule Soft or Dell Boomi.
- Strong grasp of authentication/authorization standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical teams.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to customer sites.
- Experience integrating with the Salesforce platform, using Salesforce APIs and Apex.
- Direct experience working on AI or automation projects.
- Data Specialist or Data Cloud certifications.
- Familiarity with major cloud provider integration services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience in an Agile development environment.

Salary RangesFor New York‑based roles: $184,000 to $384,100.
For Washington‑based roles: $167,300 to $351,800.
For Maryland‑based roles: $184,000 to $351,800.
For California‑based roles: $184,000 to $384,100.
For Illinois‑based roles: $167,300 to $351,800.
For Massachusetts‑based roles: $167,300 to $351,800.
