Senior Business Systems Analyst – Finance

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to serve as a liaison between business teams and technical systems groups. The role will analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, support application implementations, resolve complex system issues, and improve business processes across finance, accounting, project management, reporting, and related enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong business systems analysis experience with a finance and project management background, excellent communication skills, and experience working with applications such as Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time Capture, Primavera, Pro Pricer, Cognos, and Oracle.

• Act as the liaison between business stakeholders, Business Analysts, IT teams, and technical resources.
• Analyze business processes and translate business needs into detailed system requirements and functional specifications.
• Gather, document, validate, and manage business and technical requirements throughout the SDLC.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes and maximize the effective use of enterprise applications.
• Provide day-to-day application support and troubleshoot complex issues across finance, accounting, project management, time recording, reporting, and related systems.
• Support applications including Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time Capture, Primavera, Pro Pricer, Cognos, and internally developed applications.
• Receive and analyze support tickets, resolve issues, and assign work to junior team members when appropriate.
• Work with users and stakeholders to understand business needs and develop appropriate solutions.
• Perform buy-versus-build analysis and support solution procurement, development, implementation, and ongoing support.
• Coordinate application upgrades, enhancements, bug fixes, and releases across impacted departments.
• Define project scope, requirements, implementation timelines, and deliverables.
• Analyze system interfaces and develop detailed interface specifications at the table and column level.
• Collaborate with database and technical teams to develop, implement, and troubleshoot system interfaces.
• Manage small to medium-sized projects from initiation through implementation and support.
• Develop and execute testing strategies to ensure applications meet business requirements before production deployment.
• Facilitate risk identification, issue resolution, and mitigation planning.
• Develop and maintain business process documentation, system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members and collaborate with functional and technical teams.

• 5–7 years of job-related experience in business systems analysis, application support, or related technology roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong experience with requirements gathering, business process analysis, systems analysis, and functional specifications.
• Experience working throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong understanding of finance, accounting, project management, or planning business processes.
• Experience analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into technical system requirements.
• Strong application testing, quality assurance, and implementation experience.
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise applications and coordinating issue resolution.
• Strong SQL/database knowledge, preferably Oracle SQL.
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with technical and functional stakeholders.
