Overview

Area Manager position  Area Manager serves as the primary business contact for the client and is responsible for client satisfaction, overseeing field operations in assigned territories, and representing client needs within the organization to ensure quality. The role includes ensuring confidentiality and providing industry-specific knowledge to the public and others doing business with Encompass.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue.
  • Oversee activities in all work units within the assigned territory, including procedures implementation, case management and processing, records management, collection and reporting of statistics, and minor inventory-related accounting functions.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of subordinate supervisors, including reviewing work and performance, motivating staff, identifying performance problems, developing solutions, determining training needs, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Assist the Regional Director of Operations in developing and implementing field policies; develop operating procedures, forms, systems, and facilitate changes in procedures, workflows, personnel, and equipment.
  • Advise supervisors and customers when unusual work situations arise or new procedures are instituted.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and projects are profitable.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and new business in collaboration with the Regional Director of Operations.
  • Perform personnel administrative tasks including coordinating hiring and promotions, training employees, resolving unusual employee problems, and maintaining time and attendance records within the territory.
  • Regularly meet with supervisors and staff to exchange information, conduct formal meetings, and prepare agendas, minutes, and summaries of issues and action plans for review by management.
  • Prepare manuals and materials describing procedures and standards; generate reports as required by senior leadership.
  • Act as a point of contact for field operations information for clients and management; respond to inquiries within established guidelines and use specialized communication skills.
  • Train staff in the use of automated systems, assist with new versions or functions, troubleshoot problems, and participate in meetings.
  • Assist in budget preparation and maintenance for each service area; ensure the completion of special projects and understand duties of lower-level roles when required.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college diploma preferred. Must have a minimum of six years of experience in the facilities and building maintenance industry, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of effective supervisory and management techniques.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish or Creole.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license.
Supervision Received
  • General supervision from a professional supervisor who reviews completed work for quality; tasks are usually performed with independent judgment.
Supervision Exercised
  • Supervises all team members working on their account.
